See the difference we made

The challenge

PropList were a new Commercial Property Portal with big ambitions when we were initially tasked with building their website.

PropList came to us having found a gap in the market. With other property portals being residential first, Commercial Property was mostly an afterthought. PropList wanted to be known as the go to place for Commercial Property and would make it easy for agents to use new technology to market themselves easily, and cost effectively.

Strategy and insight

Our approach

Before we started development, we spent time carefully considering the brief, researching tools, choosing technologies, and having discussions with integration partners to ensure what we were building would stand the test of time, whilst being lightning fast and able to deliver real value to the end users.  We then architected the ERD for the database and wrote the draft 70 page specification, outlining the sitemap, the API and CRUD methods, before incorporating client feedback and that of our development team that would be working on the project.

We used the specification to split the project up into natural segments (such as; API, Front end, Admin, Feeds, Scrapes), and then backlogged these into even smaller tasks for each sprint.

Throughout this programme, which has comprised of multiple projects, we have used our extensive experience in both Web Scraping, and other property sectors, to quickly and easily onboard new Agents by taking properties from hundreds of automated feeds, and even scraping properties from their own websites where feeds aren’t available.
